I believe that modern women are expected to do way too much and be way too many things.
These days the message is that modern women need to be able to:
- be the kick-ass career woman that can take charge of any company
- look the part of perfectly sexy wife / girlfriend / partner
- throw down in the kitchen Julia Child-style
- be the calm, nurturing mother when they decide to have kids
- have the Victoria’s secret model body
- AND dress impeccably in Vogue style designer duds
No wonder women are so unbelievably stressed out. How can we possibly manage to be all of that every single day?
Society has these absolutely impossible expectations that are stressing women out…and causing them to experience record-high rates of stress, anxiety, and depression.
So I am passionate about breaking down these unreasonable expectations and helping overwhelmed, over-worked, and under-appreciated women live a more meaningful, enjoyable, life. A life that is free of the exhaustion and burnout that comes with trying to be perfect in every area of their lives. A life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
Because the honest truth, and I am being totally real with you right now, is that you can’t be perfect and balanced every single minute of every single day.
It’s just not going to happen.
What you CAN do is learn how to shut down these unrealistic expectations, use strategic balance to manage the pressures of daily life, and learn how to accept that some days some things must give, and that this is ok and totally acceptable. You MUST learn how to ebb and flow.
The stress and daily demands of life will always be there, you can’t change that. But you can learn how to manage your life better so your feel happier, healthier, and more in control. The added bonus is that this approach actually increases your productivity and overall fulfillment.
I really believe that finding balance in a way that makes sense to you is key. And balance means something different for every single person.
So how can I help you?
Well, I am a woman that has been through a lot of stress…I actually describe myself as a recovering stress addict. Stress used to get me going - I would literally get a rush from being stressed out and that rush would motivate me to keep moving forward. Stress fed my ambitious, achieving, nothing-is-ever-good-enough personality…until it all fell apart. Being diagnosed with cancer at 29 changed my world, and I learned that my addiction to stress was literally killing me.
Since then it has been a long journey into health and wellness and learning how to heal myself. Using a unique combination of psychology + yoga, I learned how to nourish my body. I learned how to calm my mind. And I learned how to soothe my soul.
I am still ambitious and will always be a go-getter. That will never change.
But now I know how to calm myself. I know how to maintain balance. And I know how to really listen to my body, my mind, and my spirit. If life is getting overwhelming, I know now when and how to pull back.
I used to hate the idea of sitting still and “quiet”. Now I cherish it.
I used to think I was eating “healthy.” Now I actually know what eating healthy really is.
I used to be quite angry and had no spiritual path. Now I feel at peace.
My journey to wellness inspired me to create Your Blissed Out Life and the Blissful Warrior Lifestyle as a way of sharing my passion and experience with psychology + yoga with as many women as I can, so that they can learn from my mistakes and live a more balanced, fulfilling life.
The Blissful Warrior Lifestyle is a holistic approach that incorporates 8 Core Elements of Blissful Living to help women let go of unrealistic expectations, build up their self-worth, and take charge of their lives. I love all things related to healthy, blissful living, and I want to create a revolution – a global community of empowered Blissful Warriors that support, love, and advocate for each other.
