I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with the State of Florida (MH13667). In addition to Life Coaching, I offer Mental Health Counseling and Yoga Therapy services at my office in Saint Petersburg, FL.
The Social Media Policy that follows is mostly for those persons who have been, currently are, or will be entering into a professional relationship in mental health counseling services with me. Please take time to familiarize yourself with these policies.
SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY
The widespread use of social media and the ease of virtual connection has changed the way we interact. The Internet can be a great tool for connecting people to resources and educational material. It can also damage or impede our professional therapeutic relationship.
Please read the following policies in order to understand how I conduct myself on the Internet and how you can expect me to respond to various interactions that may occur between us. If you have any questions about this, please ask.
I do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former mental health counseling clients on any personal social networking sites. Adding clients as friends or contacts on these sites can compromise your confidentiality and our respective privacy. It also blurs the boundaries of our therapeutic relationship.
I have no expectation that you will want to follow my blog, Twitter stream, or professional Facebook page. However, if you use an easily recognizable name and I happen to notice that you’ve followed or liked me, we may briefly discuss its impact on our working relationship.
My primary concern is your privacy, so please use your own discretion in choosing whether to follow me. Also, please note that I will not follow you back or interact with you on these sites. Viewing of clients’ online content outside of the therapy hour can create confusion, have a negative influence on our working relationship, and violates your privacy. If there are things from your online life that you wish to share with me, please bring them to our sessions.
Please do not use messaging on social networking sites to contact me. These sites are not secure and I may not read these messages in a timely fashion. Do not use wall postings, @replies, or other means of engaging with me in public online if we have an already established client/therapist relationship. Engaging with me this way could compromise your confidentiality. It may also create the possibility that these exchanges become a part of your legal medical record and will need to be documented and archived in your chart.
If you need to contact me between sessions, the best way to do so is by phone or text message. Direct email at Jamie@yourblissedoutlife.com is also acceptable. However, please see the email section below for more information regarding email interactions.
I prefer using email only to arrange or modify appointments, as most forms of email are not completely secure or confidential.
If you have questions or concerns about any of these policies and procedures, please bring them to my attention so we can discuss them.
Your privacy is important to me, and I am committed to protecting your personal information. This policy provides information about the ways I collect and use your information, so you can make an informed choice regarding whether you will visit this website.
I collect your name and email when you subscribe to my email newsletter. When you order a product on this site, I collect your name, email address, mailing address, and phone number. Your credit card information and/or banking account information is held by my payment processor, PayPal, and I do not have access to those numbers.
I use your name and email to send you periodic emails, including email newsletters and occasional business announcements and updates. If you buy a product, I use your mailing address to ship you the product, and your phone number to process your transaction. I may use your phone number and/or email to contact you about your order.
If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, I include the one-step unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.
I use various security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information, including hosting your name and email using a password-protected, secure service. This service keeps your information confidential, will not sell or share your information, and will not contact you directly. I also use PayPal as my payment processor, who stores your private financial information (credit card numbers and banking account information), as per their agreement with you. As I said above, I do not have access to your financial information on PayPal.
I will not trade, share, or sell your information to any other company. I do share your information with specific third parties who assist us in taking care of you (such as the email hosting service above). These third parties all agree to keep your information confidential. I will also release your information as required by law and if necessary to protect my legal rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding or court order.
Any changes to this policy will be posted on this page. This policy was last reviewed in April 2016.
By using this site, you consent to all terms listed above.
